Netball

With South Otago closing day this Saturday, teams are dressing up and playing fun games, we hope that all players and families have enjoyed the 2019 season.  We would like to thank the coaches Hayley Mitchell, Aleisha Gutsell, Nicky Hartvigsen, Lisa Given and Angela Senior for your dedication and time given to the girls and Catlins Netball. Also, thank you to all the parents who helped each team with scoring and timekeeping on Saturday’s 

Good luck to Yui Nakajima and Amelia Morrison who are attending their first South Otago age group Netball tournament this Sunday in Dunedin.  Jade Gutsell has been invited to attend this tournament as an umpire, this is fantastic as Jade only started volunteering on Saturdays umpiring along with four other TCAS students at the beginning of the 2019 season.

Cross Country

The TCAS Cross country is to be held Monday 12th August, in the paddocks behind the Catlins Inn. The whole school will walk down at 1:45 in house groups with the first race commencing at 2pm.  

Race order and estimated start times with both boys and girls running together:

2:00pm Race 1 - Year 1 and 2 

2:10pm Race 2 - Year 7 to 13 

2:25pm Race 3 - Year 3 and 4

2:35pm Race 4 - Year 5 and 6

Students are to come to school dressed in school uniform and will change during the lunch break change into house colours and appropriate footwear. PLEASE NOTE it will be muddy and wet so wearing old sneakers is highly recommended.

Students will be able to leave the grounds at the completion of their race ONLY if accompanied by their parents AND have informed Mr Tim Samson who will be at the exit gate.

Indoor Cricket

6-a-side Indoor Cricket commences on 23rd August for both Year 5-8 students and Seniors Yr 9 & above.  It is played on Friday afternoons in Balclutha at the Cross Recreation Centre.

To enter a team it will require a parent to attend games and umpire. If you are willing to help manage and umpire please contact Tania Barr by emailing [email protected]

Turbo Touch

Six-week competition of Turbo Touch starts on 14th August and is played at Cross Recreation Centre, Balclutha. Competition groups are Year 5-8 students and Year 9-10 students.  Team Managers are to referee games. TCAS Sports Hoodies

The PE department is looking at placing another order of TCAS Sports Hoodies for those who missed out in Term 1, provided there is enough interest.  There will be only a short time for ordering with orders required by 20th August 2019.  TCAS hoodies are OPTIONAL and are NOT part of the school uniform, can be worn at sporting events.  Cost per hoodie is $53 which includes name screen printed on the back.
