Papatowai Challenge

On the 29th February, the annual Papatowai Challenge is taking place, involving a 15.5 km run or walk. The school is once again helping at this event as a fundraiser for the PE department. We are looking for volunteers to help with entries and timing.  Thank you to the students who have offered so far, it will be a great experience in event management. If there are any other students or parents keen to help, please contact Fiona: [email protected]. We also encourage our senior students to enter the race and support such a great event in our local community.

Netball

Next week all students interested in playing Netball for the 2020 season will be invited to sign up to give us an indication on teams and team numbers, with permission slips to follow.

If there are any parents interested in coaching or managing or even helping with lunchtime for our Junior team this upcoming season, please email [email protected] to register your interest with preferred age group.

Hockey

The first round of hockey started on Monday and it was great to see some new players getting involved in Hockey. A special 'thank you' to Robbie Jackson who is coaching and refereeing for the TCAS Gold Year 5-6 team and Cooper Cleland who is helping Mrs Wilkinson with the Small Sticks Programme.

Athletics Day

Today was our Annual Athletics day, keep an eye on The Catlins Area School Facebook page and our next newsletter for results and photos, plus all house points awarded.

Parents of any student who qualified for South Otago Athletics in Balclutha on Monday 2nd March will receive an email over the weekend with details and further information.
