Senior Geography River Trip
Thursday 5th March saw the Senior Geography students brave the icy Mac Lennan river to gather data for their Geography Research standards.
Research standards. Water, especially rivers, is a topical subject at this time so the students were researching what was happening to the land around the river. The Year 12 students were looking at the processes of erosion and deposition along the river banks while the Year 13 class was comparing data from 2019 with this year's data to see what changes had taken place. From the data they collected, they drew up precise sketches, cross-sections and scatter graphs as well as collecting photographic evidence relating to their aims. Yes! The water was cold, but nobody got hypothermia!
