Room 3, Turangawaewae, Textures and Senses
Room 3 have been using the concept of Turangawaewae and how it connects each of them to the school environement.
During Term 1 Room 3 have been looking at the concept of Turangawaewae, our special place within the school. We have been using our senses to identify what makes it so special for us. William and Theo love being up on the back field looking carefully at their environment. Indie and Maggie feel happy in the garden. Bella and Madison love the tennis courts, some love the trees by the long jump pit and others love being on the bank by the music room. Patrick's favourite place is the seesaw. Mrs Parker feels connected to the Rowan tree in the courtyard. We have loved getting to know our favourite places within within school environment.
On Monday we used little cardboard viewfinders to help us focus on the textures in our special places. We drew what we saw, and have also used other senses to connect with our turangawaewae.
