Room 3 takes their learning sea-riously
Mrs Parker and Room 3 have been learning about some ways to protect our local marine life and habitats during Sea Week.
Sea Week is a New Zealand wide focus each year in early March. This year it has run from Saturday 5 March to Sunday 13 March (which, to the observant, is longer than a week!) Room 3 has been learning about some ways to protect our local marine life and about some of the creatures that inhabit local marine habitats. They have discovered some fascinating facts about some of the marine life in our local seas. Did you know that the life span of a female Orca is 90 years, while the male Orca has a life span of 60? There are always plenty of online ways to become involved in Sea Week. A great place to visit is the Portobello Aquarium - if you have never been there, it is well worth considering a visit in the school holidays. It's always great to see what Room 3 have been up to!
