Nathan Wallis Visit
When planning how well-being can continue to be a priority within The Catlins Area School community we wanted to engage a professional that was engaging, informative and had up to date research information that related to young people and education.
Nathan Wallis was that professional and he presented a full-day training to all staff and a workshop in the evening to parents and members of the local and wider community. He succinctly explained the four parts of the brain and the main factors in a child/young person's upbringing that contribute to each section. He explained risk and resiliency factors to brain development and what neuroplasticity is. Nathan was relevant, engaging and had lots of people resonating with the information he presented. A big thanks to the BOT for supporting his visit and acknowledging how valuable the information will be to us all when working with our young people.
