Enviroschools Hui
Several of our students attended the Enviroschools Hui at Clutha Valley School
A number of students in Rooms 3 and 19 benefitted from attending our regional Primary School Enviroschools Hui on Monday. Thank you to Emma Longmore and Lisa Hooker who accompanied them, and taught groups throughout the day.
Enviroschools is a nationwide programme where early childhood centres and schools commit to a long-term sustainability journey, where students connect with and explore the environment, then plan, design and take action in their local places in collaboration with their communities. The Catlins Area School has benefitted from our partnership through the creation of our worm composting system and other projects. At the 2019 hui, students from 8 different schools learned about a variety of environmental concepts such as water management, heat conservation and plastic use. There was even a bike-powered smoothie maker to try out!
