During the school day
During the school day: Content relates to school expectations around signing out of school and energy drinks.
During the school day
It is a school expectation that students stay on school grounds during the school day unless parents sign their child out e.g. for medical appointments etc. The only exception to this rule is for our Year 13 students, they may sign out at the office during our standard break times if they wish.
If your child needs to leave the school grounds for an exceptional reason - for example they have forgotten their lunch or togs and can easily and safely get home to collect them - please call the school office to notify us. The office staff will make arrangements for your child to sign out, and back in as appropriate.
On a similar note, we’ve noticed that high sugar juices, fizzy drinks and energy drinks are creeping back into lunches and school bags. Our school expectation regarding drinks during the school day are for water or plain milk only. Milk is provided in the afternoon for junior classes if students choose to drink it, water fountains are available around the school. Bring a full water bottle from home each day is encouraged. Here is an interesting article which outlines the effects of energy drinks on young people: https://www.bda.uk.com/dt/articles/energy_drinks_young_people.
