Victory at the Quadrathon!

Victory at the Quadrathon!

Four of our teams placed first at the Quadrathon in Waiwera.

The annual Quadrathon was held this Tuesday at Waiwera South School, with students from Years 4–8 taking on four challenging events: swimming, biking, cross-country running, and road running. Students competed both individually and in teams, showing off not only their fitness but also loads of perseverance and awesome team spirit.

The sunshine turned up for the whole day, setting the perfect scene for plenty of energy, laughter, and friendly competition. Students cheered each other on and showed fantastic sportsmanship from start to finish.

We are incredibly proud of our teams who placed in their categories:

1st - Year 4 Boys: Double J Double R TCAS — Jacob, Reyne, Ryan, and Joseph, finishing in 27:15

2nd - Year 4 Mixed: Terrific Trio  — Claire, Quinn, Brody and Ava, finishing in 29:34

3rd - Year 5 Girls Individuals: Emma, finishing in 28:05

1st - Year 6 Mixed: Up the Wahs — William, Ella, Kayden, and Carter, with an impressive time of 21:39

1st - Year 8 Mixed: The Catlins Cruisers — Mika, Harry L, Riley, and Graham, crossing the finish line in 21:09

A huge well done to all students who took part. Special mention goes to those who tackled the challenge as individuals: Thomas Bradfield, Emma Parkes, Declan Brookland, and Indie Parkes. Every effort counted from both individuals and teams and it was inspiring to see everyone giving their best and having fun along the way.

Thank you to all staff, parents, and helpers who supported the event, your involvement made the day even more special. We can’t wait to see everyone back again for another action-packed Quadrathon next year!
