Kiwileles Jam by the Beach

Our Kiwileles had an amazing time showcasing their ukulele skills and creativity at the Ukulele Jam by the Beach at Tahuna Intermediate School.
On Tuesday I had the good fortune to take our Kiwileles; Lachlan Cairns, Ava Sellars, Willow Smith and Claire Brookland to the Ukulele Jam by the Beach at Tahuna Intermediate School. They joined their ukulele teacher, Kirsten Kane, along with over 300 students and teachers, to play and sing a fun range of songs.
During the show Lachlan got the chance to perform some traditional Samoan drumming with some of the other lucky students at the front near the stage.
Later the event hosts announced the winners and runner-ups of the ukulele art competitions. Well done to Lachlan for fourth place in the 2D ukulele design and Ava for her awesome 3D ukulele design!
The show ended with Suzie Kato's 'What Kind of Rock?' and the ukulele teachers all dressed up as 'rock stars'.
Our students behaved really well and played like legends. Special thanks to Kirsten Kane and the Kiwileles events organizers for making this opportunity possible.
