Our basketball season has now come to an end, and I would like to thank all of the players and our manager Glenys, for committing to going through to Dunedin each Friday night and thank you to the parents for enabling the team to do this, and providing great support courtside.

It has been a pleasure to see how much every player has improved over the past few years, and especially over this season. It shows that Catlins basketball will still be strong next season, with the younger players coming through.

A special shout out to Jethro for his leadership of the team and encouragement that he provides to all the players and Kaiyo for being vice captain and stepping up when Jethro was not available.

Out of 12 games this season, the team only lost two - which is a great result, but even more important was their sportsmanship throughout the season. They always congratulated their opposition and treated them with respect, showing the great team culture that has developed over the past year. The team finished 3rd overall in the C grade competition.

I look forward to seeing what the team can do next season!
