Planting the Seed: Jethro’s greenhouse project scores grant funding!

A generous grant from the Otago Community Trust is about to transform a green space at school.
It's no mystery that our greenhouse could be improved. Bare boxes and ripped walls leave much to be desired. A recent influx of keen and willing gardeners has drawn our attention to this so we thought what better way to improve our school than renovate our greenhouse!
Our plan is to completely redo the walls, the roof and the inside in glass. We hope that TCAS can have a bustling, inviting and positive gardening experience, helping provide fresh grown herbs and vegetables for our cooking classes and for our stomachs. We’re hoping that this garden will bring together our students and give them a richer learning experience.
With plans to resurface the walls and roof, along with an outside garden and seating area, this could potentially be a costly endeavour. However, thanks to the generosity, and amazingness of the Rangatahi Led Fund grant from Otago Community Trust. Our school was lucky enough to get this grant allowing all of us to take this dream from dreamland into the real world. I would like to give a tremendous thank you to them for their contributions. We couldn't do this without them.
