Science in a Van; Educational and entertaining!

Since 2011, Emily and Alan Worman have been delivering fun, interactive science experiences across New Zealand.
With decades of experience in educational shows, tours, and activities Alan and Emily brought this highly entertaining and informative science show to the primary students of TCAS on Thursday. They definitely brought the excitement of science and a touch of humour directly to our school.
Was it a theatre show? Is it a science lesson? It was both! Their interactive science shows explored a wide range of topics, encouraging students to think like scientists. The show aligns with the Nature of Science strand of the NZ Science Curriculum.
Through dynamic demonstrations, hands-on activities, and plenty of laughter, students experienced science in action. From learning about forces with a chair made of nails, forces using a leaf blower and ball, a leaf blower and a toilet roll, bouncing balls and rings with cups of water.
There were plenty of offers for volunteers where Skyla was even able to demonstrate a force by yanking a cloth and leaving the cups on the table. Students were encouraged to ask questions and participate by making observations.
Thank you to Ms Smith for organising this event and to Emily and Alan for sharing your love of science with us.
