In 2025 we welcome Summer Huang, who has come from Chengdu, China, the panda home town! It’s a vibrant city in the southwest of China, full of delicious food, friendly people, and of course adorable pandas. 

Summer is currently a postgraduate student at Beijing Language and Culture University, where she has been studying languages and cultures, and she can’t wait to share some of that with our students. Summer said "I’m so excited to get to know all of you and help you to learn Chinese! Let’s make this an awesome year together! Xièxiè—that means “thank you” in Mandarin!"

When she is not teaching or studying she loves taking photos, listening to music, and making scrapbooks. Summer is all about creativity and having fun, and promises to bring that same energy into TCAS classrooms. This year, the focus will be learning some basic Mandarin words together, and Summer wants to ensure that it is not just educational but also super fun. There will be opportunities to play games, sing songs, and maybe even talk about pandas along the way.
