Hockey skill sessions prove a hit!
Years 1-3 are getting a taste of what the game of hockey is like right in our own back yard, thanks to the help of skills sessions run by parents.
Year 1-3 are currently having the opportunity to give the sport of Hockey a go over six week period on a Thursday afternoon. Sophie Rowland and Rachel Worth have been holding the sessions weekly in the school gymnasium.
Great numbers are turning up and it's good to see some children give something new a go. First are drills to learn some skills such as hitting, control and stopping the ball followed by a fun and friendly game. Everyone has already shown such improvement and it's lovely to have such an enthusiastic group at a local event. This is a good to way to get a taste for the sport and for those that are keen Clutha Hockey will be running more skills sessions in Term 1 2025.
A huge thank you to our parents Sophie and Rachel who are lending their skills and time to teach our youngest students about hockey, it's really appreciated!
