Murihuku Polyfest 2024
Our Kapa Haka travelled to Invercargill to perform at Murihuku Polyfest!
Mīharo! Amazing! One word to describe the Kapahaka performance on Thursday!
Led strongly by our Kaea (leaders) Yui Nakajima and Zeek Lealavaa, our ākonga performed five items with passion, confidence and ihi (energy). Our items had a Māori, pacifica flavour and included ākonga from New Entrant to Year 13. This is our second time performing in Invercargill and we can’t wait to go back.
We would like to say a huge ngā mihi to Timikuka Walker, our inspiring Kaiako (tutor) for his unwavering support, guidance and commitment. We also want to acknowledge our Kuia/Kaumatua, Gavin and Heni Landreth for all of their love and support.
A huge ngā mihi, many thanks, to all of our whānau that helped transport and support our ropu yesterday. To Gina Gardener and every ākonga, whānau member, and staff members that helped make our new costumes - they looked incredible!
Mauri ora Whānau!
