Dribbling, passing, tackling and shooting skills on display at annual football tournament!

A large contingent of the primary school headed into Balclutha to test out their footwork against other schools.

The weather played its part on Thursday, as did many of our tamariki in the way of football at the annual South Otago Year 3-4 & 5-6 Football Festival;  a huge event which had over 85 teams entered! TCAS entered three year 3-4 teams and two year 5-6 teams consisting of 37 players in total. It is always great to see so many children getting out there trying something new or building on skills they already have.

Football has been a very popular winter sport at lunch time here at TCAS (apologies to the clothes washers!). I think on one of the wettest days at school I counted a game involving 23 students. I did have to move the goals around a few times to give the grass a break!

It’s never easy on a postponement day, so a huge thanks to parents and staff who made it happen with their awesome organisation of teams & assisting with transport.

With massive entries, events like this create lifelong memories, experiences, and friendships for these children, so thank you to all those that made this possible.
