Celebrating creativity and collaboration in junior art.

Junior art has seen some great collaborative projects using nature as a theme!
Term One in Art for juniors was all about kotahitanga, students working together on group projects. One of the projects for Rooms 1 and 2 was to create an "Enchanted Forest". This involved using a range of media from drawing to painting and then working together to assemble them.
This week in Room 3 we started on book-work, drawing studies of pears. Students learnt how to draw pears and then carefully copied the coloured example.
One of Room 19's lesson's fell on a sunny, windless day where we were able to celebrate autumn. Inspired by the artist Andy Goldsworthy, we went outside, collected and selected leaves by colour and created a series of installations under the cherry trees.
These projects highlight the diversity of art activities across different ages and classes, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and an appreciation for nature!
