The Peer Support Programme offers secondary schools the opportunity to provide new entrants to secondary school a structured introduction to school under the guidance of senior students who are trained as leaders. Our Peer Support Leaders, took smaller groups of Year 7 and 8s for an hour of mentoring. The first encounter was based around getting to know each other and building the groups. Fun ice breaker games had the groups laughing, moving, getting to know each other and working together. Peer support will continue for Term 1 with the groups meeting once a week. Next week will focus on communication.
