Quadrathon ticked off for another year.
Waiwera South School hosted 13 schools from across South Otago at its 39th annual quadrathon on Tuesday the 21st of November. A smaller contingent of athletes from TCAS headed over, (there were some very disappointed Year 7 and 8s who were away on camp).
Nathan Bloxham attended with four teams of four competing in a 100m swim, 2.4km cycle race and 2.7km combined cross-country and road-run in hot, still conditions.
Children came back with sore legs, huge smiles and a touch of sunburn. Thank you to Hamish McDougall, Linda Wilson, Adele Sellars and Shelley Povey, for transporting the athletes and bikes, cheering on our swimmers, bikers and runners, and making this another event TCAS could be represented in.
Results are yet to be confirmed but will be circulated once known. The students were asked what was the best thing about the day:
"It was cool seeing friends from other schools"
"The weather was so sunny and we could play afterwards"
"The canteen food was amazing"
"The parents were supportive and caring and were the loudest cheerleaders"
