Spotlight on accomplishments and achievement at assembly.
Our focus for the term has been on our school values. Assembly celebrated ACHIEVEMENT - we strive with integrity to achieve personal excellence. As parents and teachers, we want the best for our children. We want them to succeed in school, their careers, and life. Our achievement value focuses on personal excellence, supporting students to reach their full potential in all areas of their lives.
Weekly certificates were handed out for each room or year group for showing our school values. The recipients were:
Lily Dawkins for continued progress in all learning areas
Darcy Cairns for his excellent progress with handwriting skills
Jacob Bradfield for consistent effort and achievement in structured literacy
Brody Pepperell for excellent achievement in reading and mathematics
Harriet Parker for achievement with her report writing.
Bailey Shaw for trying his hardest during his reading and literacy.
Ella Hudson for her excellent effort she has been making in improving her handwriting.
Lola Povey for the great work she is doing regarding her autobiography.
Max Alsop-Coleman for his awesome participation in his first ever school netball tournament.
Girik Batra for his incredible science speech presentation.
Clark Napier for achieving a great outcome in technology and producing a product by using new skills learnt in the workshop.
Kaiyo Nakajima for working hard in art and achieving great results.
Portia Chambers for showing natural leadership skills in PE and tumeke mahi in Te Reo.
Amelia Morrison for achieving well in art and by coming in during her own time to complete artwork.
We also celebrated Sueloa Tyrell as she earned her CARE badge.
Mr Simpson shared ACHIEVEMENT in technology. The audience were shown an array of creations made by Year 7 to 10 students. Students have created passive speakers, ninja cellphone holders, bird houses, chess sets complete with 3D printed star wars themed characters, stools, puzzles, tables and even a quoits game with a demonstration by Max Alsop-Coleman.
Miss Currall, joined by Years 11-13 who each in turn, shared what their greatest achievement on camp was. Achievements varied from learning how to use chopsticks to learning more about our ANZAC history.
Portia Chambers shared a truly remarkable piece of her writing, which not only entertained by the words themselves but in the delivery also.
Assembly in Week 8 will be Friday the 8th of September where we will be focussing on the value of CARE.
