Junior South Island Secondary School Netball Tournament
This year, Astrid Morrison, Harper Melville, and Natalie Grant had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Junior South Island Netball Tournament, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.
The tournament, held in Christchurch, saw thirty-two teams from various south island schools showcasing their netball skills and determination on the court. Our school's representatives demonstrated true sportsmanship, proving that success is not solely measured by wins but also by the friendships formed and the growth achieved through teamwork.
What made this year's tournament particularly memorable was the collaborative effort between The Catlins Area School, Twizel Area School, and Waiau Area School. As the three schools combined to form a formidable team, our students had the chance to build new connections and form lasting bonds with their peers from different schools. It was heartwarming to see them come together as one, supporting each other through the highs and lows of the tournament.
The tournament's schedule was packed with matches that tested the skills and resilience of our students. They showcased their dedication and passion for netball, impressing both spectators and fellow players with their tenacity on the court.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Twizel Area School for organizing and inviting our students to be a part of this enriching experience. The experience of the South Island Secondary Schools Junior Netball Tournament has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the lives of our students. It has taught them the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and the joy of building connections with fellow athletes from different schools.
