A beautiful summers day for the annual Year 7-8 Hockey Festival in Balclutha on Tuesday. Thirty one teams from schools around the district were having a crack at hockey, and TCAS were able to field two teams of year 7 and 8 players. 

Our players can be congratulated on their solid improvement throughout the day. They learnt the best way to work as a team, and the words of encouragement towards each other was such a pleasure to hear from our students. It was great to see them put their thinking caps on and figure out the best way to solve some challenges such as the long grass, and they left feeling pleased with their experience. 

The teachers and supporters were pleased to be able to spend it with such happy and friendly students. Well done Year 7 & 8!

As always thanks to our helpers to whom without it could not happen. Mrs Wilkinson for being a fantastic multi-talent who can referee and coach at the same time, and Mrs Bichan and Mrs Povey for your team management, coaching, encouragement and photos.

We are looking forward to next week, when we will do it all again for the Year 5-6 tamariki in Bruce County.
