Hand and Foot Hopscotch for Room 19
This term Room 19 are learning to how to train their brains to be able to use two functions at once! This will help us them with concentration and it's a good ‘brain gym’ excercise to refresh their brains by playing a game called Hands and Feet Hopscotch! This exercise trains the brain to co-ordinate both our mind and the body at the same time.
For this exercise everyone used two parts of their brain at once. It’s the same parts of our brain we use to do the ‘pat your head and rub your tummy trick’. Neither of these two activities are difficult to do, but we have to ‘programme’ our brain to use two parts of it at once. The more you practice the easier it becomes. It trains our brain quickly with mind concentration and body coordination.
It’s a load of fun as with this ‘hopscotch’ game’ you need to use 3 limbs at once! And sometimes you even have to cross your legs or arms to move to the next step! Room 19 have had lots of fun setting it up and had so many laughs with each other as they try - and fail - at their attempts . . . but good news they are getting better!
Included here is the link to the original video that they learnt from, for you to try at home if you like.
The next step is to replace the images with words . . . that will make us think even more!
