What is the difference between 'everyday' and 'occasional' foods?
Room 19 have been learning about identifying the difference between ‘everyday foods’ and ‘occasional foods'. They are looking at the sugar, fibre and salt content in particular.
Among homework, activities were checking cereals, fruits and vegetables that they have at home, as well as taking part in a ‘whole class breakfast’ on Friday. Each pupil picked a random cereal box and enjoyed (or didn’t) eating it. They then compared the sugar, salt and fibre content of the varieties.
Weatbix was decided as the healthiest ‘everyday food’. Pupils were very surprised at learning how many cereals are actually ‘occasional’ cereals!
