The Catlins Area School Library and the Owaka Community Library have collaborated all term and sadly The Twin Library Reading Challenge has come to an end.
The challenge was designed to encourage the enjoyment of reading, and for students of all ages to explore the resources that both libraries have to offer. Students just needed to take out an equal amount of books from each library throughout the term. The total number of books read in both libraries over the 7 weeks is a whopping 869 (TCAS Library 525, Owaka Community Library 324). That's a huge achievement readers!
Nora borrowed most books with 428, Manuka 236 and Surat 188, while Room 19 was the most successful class borrowing 256.
A huge thanks to Mrs McPhee for running the competition and sharing her love of reading and books, the Owaka Community Library and staff for their co-operation, and of course the bookworms themselves!
